Jewelry Materials and Care
Silver
925 silver is an alloy composed mainly of silver with a small percentage of copper.
Copper can oxidize, and the pH of the skin can accelerate this process, which varies from person to person.
Factors that promote oxidation:
- humidity and water;
- natural sources of sulphurous or ferrous water;
- air pollutants;
- alcohol-based creams and gels.
Bronze
Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin, sometimes enriched with other metals to define its shade.
Copper can oxidize, and the skin's pH can accelerate this reaction, which varies from person to person.
It may leave a light black, blue, or green cast on the skin, which is easily removed with soap and water.
Factors that promote oxidation:
- humidity and water;
- natural sources of sulphurous or ferrous water;
- air pollutants;
- alcohol-based creams and gels.
Galvanic finishing treatments
When present and indicated, the gilding consists of a 5 or 8 micron layer of 750 gold, which guarantees stability and brilliance of the color.
Over time, the browning may fade.
To preserve the galvanic treatment:
- avoid contact with water, perfumes and alcohol-based products;
- do not use metal cleaners;
- do not rub surfaces forcefully.
Treatment
The jewels are handmade using traditional goldsmith techniques.
Most of the pieces are born from a bench assembly of micro-cast elements and parts, obtained through the ancient technique of lost-wax casting.
Directions for use:
- open rings, bangles and chokers are adjustable;
- loosen or tighten them gently and only when necessary;
- avoid repeated twisting.
The silver and bronze used are nickel-free.
